Evesham
In Evesham, I am based at GOAT Fitness. GOAT Fitness is a gym with both indoor and outdoor space that focuses on Hyrox performance with regular classes to help with general fitness, more Hyrox specific work and Hyrox run throughs. It is a friendly atmosphere giving you a great opportunity to train at a brilliant facility that is rare to come by.
At GOAT Fitness I will be working in a seperate clinic, on site, with access to the gym facilities offering Sports Therapy, Strength and Conditioning as well as Sports Massage.
Sports Therapy
What can you expect from Sports Therapy? Each new case will begin with an initial consultation where we can get to know each other and understand what your complaint/injury is, the cause, and start to form a plan to get you pain free and on the road to recovery. I always aim to have each patient leave feeling better than they did when they walked in; understanding their pain and body, and content with a plan going forward.
After the first session we will work through your personal rehab plan as well as constantly retesting and treating to properly monitor and improve your injury. This process will continue as long as is needed to get you back to your best and achieve your goals and beyond.
Strength and Conditioning
I don't see sports rehabilitation and training for performance or lifestyle as different elements, just two sides of the same coin. Rehabilitation gets a bad reputation due to always being associated with injury, and therefore negative connotations but this should not be the case. Do not see rehab as exercises you do because you can't 'train properly', see it as an opportunity to improve yourself and get stronger or fitter just like normal.
Which side of the coin are you on?
Rehab and Recovery
A programme focused more on a specific area of the body that
will likely be performed more regularly, but putting less tax on the body, allowing the all-important recovery process to take place.
Prevention and Performance
A more traditional way of training that you may be more familiar with focussed on improving performance, whether that be for sport, work, or day to day living. As well as improving performance, I am also a big believer in training to prevent injury. This is where the barrier between 'rehab' and 'training' gets broken down - The processes are extremely similar and exercises will often overlap between the two.
Sports Massage
Sports Massage is a great tool that can be implemented into Sports Therapy sessions to help relieve tension or improve mobility, but it is of course great as its own medium for recovery. I do offer Sports massage as a separate service, so please feel free to book in.
